This presentation illustrated the process of teaching a 6-year-old boy to respond to social questions through picture exchange communication system (PECS). In addition, it illustrated the use of PECS at an advanced level. In this presentation, Emily used videos to demonstrate how the boy organized his PECS book of 300 pictures, use action words to construct grammatically correct sentence, request multiple items at a time, uses attribute to differentiate the specific item that he wanted, and select different sentence starters to respond to different questions appropriately.

此演講說明了一個過程關於如何教導一個歲小孩子通過圖卡兌換溝通系統(PECS)便可回應社會問題。而且,也說明了如何使用達高級程度的PECS。在這次演講中,Emily利用了錄像來示範男孩如何組織300福PECS圖卡書,利用活動字建造grammar上正確的句子,要求一次有多項東西,用其特性來分辨一些他想要的東西,和選擇不同句子開頭來適當地回應不同問題。
